 Nutritional education for vulnerable groups (mothers, children) in the community about balanced diet should be given as follows.

1. Children under 5 years of age are more prone to illness and death or stunted growth if they do not get adequate nutrition.

6. Ensure that all infants receive adequate nutrition from all food sources. A one-year-old baby should eat all kinds of solid foods and breast milk or 4 glasses of milk.

7. Children should get regular and balanced meals. They should not be made to wait long for meals or let them skip meals. They need 3 good meals a day plus snacks. Fruits, pulses and nuts can be given as snacks.

8. Mode of food given to children:

9. Rapidly growing school children need a well-balanced diet as well as nutritional and protective foods.
